A total of 50 businesses in Calp have received the "We Are Accessible Tourism" certificate, a distinction that recognizes these companies as offering facilities and services adapted for everyone.
The Councilor for Tourism Planning, Mireia Ripoll, along with the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Rebeca Merchán, accompanied by the president of AEMCO, Santi Ferrer, and Sandra Dobal, representing ADICALP (Association of People with Disabilities of Calp), presented these certificates at an event held on Saturday in the Plaza Mayor as part of the FiraCalp program.
This is the second time these certificates have been awarded to businesses in Calp. Last year, 17 establishments received this distinction, mainly tourist accommodations, as well as Calp's two tourist offices and the tourist information point at La Fossa beach, all of which met accessibility criteria. Now, 50 more businesses have been added to this list, mostly restaurants and some shops.
These are: La Piemontesa Fusión Restaurant, El Escorial Restaurant, Costa Restaurant, Aryel Cafeteria, Audrey’s Restaurant, Real Club Náutico Restaurant, Baguet Bicycle Center, MyMercat Cafeteria, La Flor del Café, Burger King, Cometa Bar, Zafra Restaurant, Bohuma Gastro Bar, Bambero Restaurant, Sabores de Oriente Restaurant, El Toro Restaurant, Yummy Cafeteria, El Rincón Bar, Coral Beach Les Bassetes Restaurant, T Pompierke Restaurant, Da Vitorio Pizzeria Restaurant, Topacio III Ice Cream Parlor Restaurant, Abiss Restaurant, Civic Center Restaurant, Tu Capricho Restaurant, The Coffee Box, El Faro Blanco, Skybar Hotel Suitopía, Cantonet Restaurant, Amara Cafeteria-Ice Cream Parlor, El Faro del Puerto Restaurant, El Andaluz Rice Restaurant, El Chiringuito Restaurant, La Fosa Restaurant, Tequilas Restaurant, KFC Calpe, McDonald's Restaurant, La Piemontesa Restaurant, 78 Sabores y Copas Restaurant, and El Restaurant Peñón, Restaurante La Lonja, Restaurante Ummami, Beauty Salon A.R.T., Supermercado Charter (Consum), Plusholidays Calpe, Mrdog Calpe, Jet Construction & Services Costa Blanca SL, Viva Cars Calpe, Servtoix Calpe, and Ifach Óptica y Audio.
The "We Are Accessible Tourism" distinction, promoted by Equalitas Vitae, recognizes businesses that meet accessibility criteria and helps people with specific needs identify adapted spaces. All certified establishments are part of the Equalitas Vitae Accessible Calpe Tourist Destination, which offers detailed, descriptive, and objective information on the accessibility of each tourist resource.
This initiative was developed within the framework of the inclusive and accessible tourism training and awareness project included in Calpe's Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD), under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR) funded by the European Union's Next Generation EU program.
